LaVerne London Berrong, 85, and a lifelong resident of Cleveland, Georgia, ran into the arms of her Lord and Savior on Nov. 6, 2022. Born in Hall County Georgia on Aug. 5, 1937, she was a twin and the 11th of 12 children born to John Graves and Flary Cantrell London. A member of Amy's Creek Baptist Church, she was affectionately known by all her church family as "Mama" or "Nanny". She is survived by her three children, Beverly (Stan) Autry, Cleveland; Rhandall Allen, Unionville, Virginia, and Becky (Wayne) Sullens, Cleveland; eight grandchildren, Aaron (Becky) Autry, Nathan Autry, Heather (Jeff) Smith, Kenny Sullens and Katie, Lisa (T.J.) Mauk, Courtney (Colby) Horne, Brandon (Jaime) Allen and Bridgett (Ron) Lopez; 12 great grandchildren, Jordyn, Jack, Madison, Blakley, Thomas, Mia, Jensen, Paisley, Annslee, Clara, Cecelia and Penelope; sister-in-laws, Linda London and Virginia Merritt, brother-in-law, Clifford (Martha) Allen; and a host of nieces and nephews and dear friends. LaVerne was proceeded in death by her husband and the father of her three children, Sherman Issac Allen, who passed in 1971, and her second husband, Fred Berrong, who passed in 2003; her parents, John Graves and Flary Cantrell London; siblings, Clarence London, Albert London, Richard London, Edgar London, Benny London, Virginia Hogan, Arthur London, Phillip London, Grant London, Irene London and twin sister, Fern Ward. Funeral services were held Wednesday, Nov. 9, 2022, at the chapel of Barrett Funeral Home. The Rev. Eddie Tanner, Rev. Steve Merk and Rev. Jimmy Abernathy officiated. Interment followed at Blue Creek Baptist Church Cemetery, with the Rev. Mike Irvin officiating. In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Amy's Creek Baptist Church, 394 Faulkner St., Cleveland, Ga 30528 in memory of LaVerne Berrong. The family would like to especially thank Hospice of Northeast Georgia for their kindness and compassion.
