Description:
Kick off your new year with a First Day Hike at a state park. From 10 a.m. to 12:30 pm., welcome the New Year with a 2.5 mile hike around Unicoi Lake at Unicoi State Park. Finish the trail at the campfire with blackeyed peas, greens and pork cooked in Dutch ovens over an open fire. At Smithgall Woods State Park, hike 2.6 miles to the park's beautiful cottage faciity where hot cider will be waiting from 2 to 4 p.m. Each park has a $5 parking fee.
