Shiny stainless steel pots and wooden salad bowls fill the shelves of Riverside Gourmet at 250 Broad St. in historic downtown Rome.

Thermometers for meat and frying hang from racks and hand towels lay neatly folded on a shelf.

The store sells cookware made by companies such as All-Clad, Viking and Cuisinart.

It also stocks wine, sauces, olive oil, mixes, cook books and aprons.

“We’re a gourmet kitchen and wine shop,” said Manager Myra Hamilton. “We have a large variety of pasta that’s been imported from Italy.”

In addition to items for cooking and baking, the store also sells ready-made cookies and candy.

“We carry everything you need for cooking, baking and entertaining,” Hamilton said.

For gift-buyers, the store can create custom gift baskets. It also has a wedding registry.

The store is open Monday through Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. and can be found on Facebook and at www.riverside-gourmet.com.
