Fay Lance Hulsey, 77, of Cleveland, passed away Sunday, Dec. 8, 2019.
Mr. Hulsey was born July 13, 1942, in Cleveland, to the late Brookton and Pauline Sosebee Hulsey. He was a self-employed cabinet maker and a 14-year veteran of the United States Army, serving in the Vietnam War. Lance was also a member of the VFW. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Jeanne Loggins Hulsey; brothers, Donald Hulsey, Larry Hulsey, and Lynn Hulsey; and great-grandson, Isaiah Nance Pea.
Survivors include his daughter, Jessica Patterson of Cleveland; daughters and sons-in-law, Debbie Pasterak and Paul Pasterak of Euharlee, and Stephanie and Chris Griffin of Cleveland; brother, Reginald "Dane" Hulsey; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, Dec. 11, at the chapel of Barrett Funeral Home. The Rev. Bryan Satterfield officiated.

In Memoriam

Mr. Frank Neal Warwick, 67, of Cleveland, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 10, 2019.
Mr. Warwick was born in White County to the late Jesse and Fannie Lou Truelove Warwick. In addition to his parents, Mr. Warwick was preceded in death by his sister, Vivian Stover. He was a retired meat cutter and a member of Mt. View Baptist Church.
Survivors include wife, Joanne Warwick of Cleveland; daughters and sons-in-law, Erin and Stacey Cleveland and Jamie and Chad Roper, all of Cleveland; son and daughter-in-law, Shane and Joyce Warwick of Cleveland; grandchildren, Logan Warwick, Madelyn Warwick, Jared Eller, Tanner Roper, Wyatt Roper, Kanaan Cleveland, and Kelsey Cleveland; brothers, Fred Warwick and Farrell Warwick; sisters, Vergia Stringer and Vera Cash; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 13, at the chapel of Barrett Funeral Home. The Rev. Darren Palmer, the Rev. Dave Fortner, and the Rev. Paul Flynn will officiate. Interment will follow at Mt. View Baptist Church Cemetery on Tesnatee Gap Valley Road.
The family will receive friends from 3 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 12, at the funeral home.

In Memoriam

Mr. Jim Edward McClure, 62, of Cleveland, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 4, 2019, at Emory University Hospital after a courageous battle with a long term illness.
Jim was born in Hiawassee, June 19, 1957, to the late Mr. Earl McClure and Mrs. JoAnn (Underwood) McClure. Jim attended Mt. Pleasant Church of God. He worked for the Georgia Department of Transportation for 18 years and was a truck driver. Jim enjoyed anything that got him outside. He loved to hunt, fish and he was a shade tree mechanic and restored old cars. Jim was very social, he never met a stranger and he would talk to anyone. Jim loved his family, and he was a devoted husband, amazing dad, and the best PaPa who lived to spoil his grandchildren!
Jim is proceeded in death by his father, Earl McClure; son, Jarriad McClure; and sister, Martha McClure Moss. He leaves behind wife, Brenda (Bradshaw) McClure; mother, JoAnn McClure; son, Eric McClure; brothers, Roy McClure, Earl Deal McClure (wife Diana) and Billy Clyde Free (wife Debbie); sister, Twana Franks; grandchildren, Shawn McClure, Ashton Adams, Addyson McClure and Aubrey McClure; along with many extended family members and friends.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Dec. 7, 2019, at Banister-Cooper Funeral Home, with the Rev. Mark Duncan officiating. Interment followed at Boyd's Chapel Cemetery.

In Memoriam

Mr. Joe Nathan Turner, 93, of Cleveland, passed away Saturday, Dec. 6, 2019.
Mr. Turner was born in Covington, Kentucky, the son of Luther Turner and Dora Davis Turner. Joe was of the Baptist faith and was a master carpenter and homebuilder. He was well known for his custom built homes, including the 10 he built and lived in with his beloved wife, Alice Cain Turner, who preceded him in death. After he retired, he and his wife traveled all over the United States and Canada, and made many friends along the way. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by the following siblings, Berry Turner, Martha Cain, Herbert Turner, Carlton Turner, and Magdalene Winstead.
Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, Lloyd and Donna Turner of Oak Ridge, Tennessee, Joel and Vickie Turner of Dahlonega, and Mark and Sheila Turner of Cleveland; daughter, Linda Dyess of Carnesville; daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara West and Gene Kelly of Alpharetta, and Jeane and Tifton Meeks of Cleveland; grandchildren, Laura Clemons of Cumming, Scott Turner of Knoxville, Tennessee, Stanley Garrison of Carnesville, Travis Garrison of Gainesville, Ceilia Lance of Gillsville, Pamela Bright of Greenville, South Caronlina, Juli Skelton of Cleveland, Tyler Turner of Dahlonega, Lauren Turner of Dahlonega, Sam Turner of Missoula, Montana, Matthew Turner of Cleveland, Christopher Kelly of Snellville, and Patrick Kelly of Gastonia, North Carolina; sister, Mary Jett of Cleveland; numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Monday, Dec. 9, at the chapel of Barrett Funeral Home. The Rev. Chris Anderson officiated. Interment followed at Gateway Memory Park.

Joe Nathan Turner

In Memoriam

Mr. Richard Lamar West of Lilburn, died peacefully in the presence of those who loved him in Cumming, after an extended illness Dec. 5, 2019, at the age of 70.
Richard is survived by his wife, Judy Poss West of Lilburn; daughter and son-in-law, Valerie and Jamie Fambrough of Dahlonega; son and daughter-in-law, Brian and Corinne West of Sugar Hill; granddaughters, Charlotte and Violet Fambrough of Dahlonega; grandsons, Jackson and Elijah West; and sister Janice Yvonne West of Cleveland. He is preceded in death by his parents, Ola Mae Turk and Loyd Hubert West; and his brother Terrell West of Norcross.
Richard was born Jan. 17, 1949, in Atlanta. He graduated with his Associates from Truett McConnell and his Bachelors in business management from Mercer University. He married Judy Carol Poss West, his blind date, which was love at first sight, Aug. 4, 1973. Richard's career began at Georgia Power Company where he moved from sales to accounting. He was hired at Oglethorpe Power Company where his boss saw his gift with numbers and pushed him to return to school. Richard obtained his degree and worked his way up and through Oglethorpe Power Company and retired as the CFO of Georgia Electric Membership Corporation's Worker's Compensation Fund. There he frequently encouraged co-workers to pursue their educations and move up within the company. He was a father figure to many and loved by all who met him.
A funeral was held Dec. 8, at Memorial Park Funeral Home in Gainesville. The Rev. Bill Hutcheson officiated the ceremony. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation in Richard's name to the Salvation Army or an academic scholarship of your choice.
Lastly, Richard would like to say, "GO DAWGS!"
