In-person early voting for the Aug. 11 primary runoff elections will begin Monday, July 20.

The only local runoff race is on the Republican ballot, between Don Ferguson and Carol Jackson for probate judge. There are no Democratic candidates in the race.

At the state level, there is a Republican runoff between Victor Anderson and Robert Crumley for the State House District 10 seat. (White County has multiple House districts, so this may not appear on all ballots depending where a voter lives.) The winner will face Democrat Nick Mitchell in the November general election.

There are two runoffs at the federal level for the U.S. House 9th District Congressional seat. Matt Gurtler and Andrew Clyde will be on the Republican ballot, with Brooke Siskin and Devin Pandy on the Democratic ballot.

Registered voters who did not cast a ballot in the June 9 primary can still vote in the runoff. However, those who chose a Republican or Democratic ballot in the primary will have to vote using the ballot of same party ballot in the runoff.

The runoff elections are a result of no single candidate from a field of three or more in these races receiving enough votes to cross the 50% threshold in the June 9 primary elections.

Early voting will be held at during normal business hours at the White County Registrar’s Office at 1241 Helen Highway in Cleveland and will continue through Friday, Aug. 7. Election Day will Aug. 11 at voters’ normal polling places.

White County Chief Registrar Lisa Manning also noted anyone can request an absentee ballot, and elderly and disabled voters who received a ballot for the June 9 primary will receive an absentee ballot without requesting again.
