Help decorate downtown in ‘Scarecrow Boogey’ contest
Scarecrows are coming to town.
The Downtown Cleveland Merchants’ Alliance is holding a Scarecrow Boogey contest as part of the group’s Fall in Love with Cleveland campaign. Not only will participants help decorate the city for the season, the public will vote for the top three entries at the Sept. 29 AgriFest.
Some scarecrows will be displayed throughout downtown.
The entry fee, which comes with a T-frame to build a scarecrow, is $35. Cost is $10 for each additional T-frame. There is no charge for K-12 school classes and youth organizations.
Scarecrows must be handmade, constructed of durable materials, and should be freestanding or attached to a tree or post with a zip tie or cord. Scarecrows should be suitable for family viewing and not something that would scare small children.
Deadline to enter is Tuesday, Sept. 18. Entry forms and fees should be returned to The Rustic Rooster Emporium at 15 S. Main St. on the south side of the Cleveland Square. Forms area available at The Rustic Rooster Emporium or can be downloaded by clicking here.
