It may have been the first time in White County history that schools had to close due to bad weather – in early October.
It’s pronounced “Double-UR, Double-U-H,” and every new employee at local radio station, WRWH, has to learn how to pronounce it correctly.
Lee Landress has lived in Helen full-time for four years, but he said he has owned property here for 20 years. “I’ve been here quite a bit in those 20 years,” he said.
