Alice Evelyn Cain Turner
Mrs. Alice Evelyn Cain Turner of Cleveland passed away Tuesday, Sept. 12, 2017, at Ashton Senior Living in Gainesville. She was 88.
Mrs. Turner was born in Dahlonega, the daughter of the late Alonza Cain and Arroma Winkler Cain. Alice was of the Holiness Faith, and was a homemaker. She had a green thumb that was obvious to all who knew her, and had a passion for growing plants and flowers.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by siblings Herbert Brent Cain, Bertha Garrett, Fairy Turner and Alonzo Cain Jr.
Survivors include her husband, Joe Turner of Cleveland; sons and daughters-in-law, Lloyd and Donna Turner of Oak Ridge, Tennessee, Joel and Vickie Turner of Dahlonega, and Mark and Shelia Turner of Cleveland; daughter, Linda Dyess of Carnesville; daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara West and Gene Kelly of Alpharetta, and Jeane and Tifton Meeks of Cleveland; grandchildren, Laura Clemmons, Scott Turner, Stanley Garrison, Travis Garrison, Celia Lance Pamela Bright, Juli Skelton, Tyler Turner, Lauren Turner, Sam Turner, and Matthew Turner; brothers, Bruce Cain of Flowery Branch, Frank Cain of Dahlonega, and Pat Cain of Dahlonega; sisters, Ether Murphy and Joyce Ann Bragg, both of Dahlonega; two great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 15, 2017, at the Chapel of Barrett Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Gateway Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, and again from 1 to 2 p.m. on Friday.
