Mrs. Edna Henderson, daughter of the late John Coleman and Beatrice Coleman, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 14, 2017, in Cleveland.
Edna dedicated her life to God, and was baptized in 1962, as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
Edna was born Feb. 4, 1939, in Huntsville, Alabama. When she was still young, her family relocated to Chicago. After moving to a northern suburb, she met Sam Henderson, her now surviving husband.
Edna and Sam raised a family of seven kids in a loving home in North Chicago. In 1998, Edna and Sam moved to Huntsville, Alabama to retire.
In 2008, they moved back to Gurnee, Illinois, where they could get more assistance from their sons. Once the cold weather started to affect their living again, they relocated south, to where their daughter lived in Cleveland, where Edna lived out the remainder of her days.
Edna’s beautiful life will forever be cherished by her husband of 59 years, Sam Henderson, and her seven children, Tracy Henderson (Andrea Bandy), Rick Henderson (Benay Pettis), Larry Henderson, Vicki Johnson (David Johnson), Scott Henderson (Geneva Henderson), Troy Henderson (Diane Henderson), and Derrick Henderson. She also had 14 grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren. She is also survived by three brothers, Floyd Coleman, Hootie Coleman, and John Coleman; and one sister, Pearl Coleman.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 24, 2017, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 44 Jackson Rd., Cleveland, GA 30528.
