James K. Rice
James K. Rice of Johns Creek, formerly of Cleveland and East Point, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2018. He was 89.
Mr. Rice was born April 17, 1929, in Mercer County, Pennsylvania, to the late Fredrick and Sara Orr Rice. James worked at Reed Manufacturing and JM Tull. Mr. Rice was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, and served during the Korean War. He was a member of Cleveland First Baptist Church and Dogwood Hills Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Ann Burdett Rice; brothers, William Rice and Robert Rice; and sister, Elizabeth Rice.
Survivors include his daughters and sons-in-law, Patricia Rice Fowle and Robert Fowle of Smyrna, and Glenda Rice Reed and Ed Reed of Treasure Island, Florida; brother, Richard Rice; sister, Marian Rice Townes; grandson, William Reed; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2018, at the Chapel of Barrett Funeral Home. The Rev. Bucky Erwin and the Rev. Dennis Turner will officiate.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Tuesday, prior to the service.
