WCMS baseball, soccer teams rolling

The spring season is off to a good start for the White County Middle School soccer and baseball teams in their first year of competition in the North Georgia Mountain League.

Both the WCMS soccers teams have been among the best in the league through the first month of play, and the baseball team is also at the top of the league standings.

The boys' soccer team is rolling along with a 4-0 record. The Warriors have wins over Lumpkin County (3-2), Clear Creek (3-1), Pickens County (3-0) and Fannin County (4-1).

Members of the WCMS boys' soccer team are Caedan Autry, Miguel Perez , Landis Franks, AJ Hicks, Matthew Herren, Cohen Cantrell, Wyatt Churchwell, Preskitt Castleberry, Thad Gensler, Tanapat Intarakasikon, Sean Hughes, Dino Stavros, George Allen and Cole Gearing, The team is coached by Alex Reynolds, Dra Stanley and Clay Kelly.

On the girls' side, the Lady Warriors are 3-1, with the only blemish on their record coming from a loss to Lumpkin County by penalty kicks. The Lady Warriors have wins over Clear Creek (10-0), Pickens County (10-0) and Fannin County (4-1).

Members of the WCMS girls' soccer team are Mac Meeks, Jenna Chesser, Josie Chesser, Liz Williams, Riley Robinson, Angelina Nichols, Jalyn Allison, Anna Tatum, Naomi Roberts, Lydia Durden, Nealeigh Broadwell, and Reese Vandegriff, Hazen Ramey, Callie Armour, Brianna Blihovde, Adelynn Knight, Hannah Irvin,  and Michalla Corgimiglia. The team is coached by Holly Fangmann, Grace Henson and Lisa Wade.

The WCHS teams travel to Union County today for a doubleheader at 4:15 p.m.

On the baseball side, the Warriors have jumped out to a 6-1 record this fall. The Warriors only loss this season is  Pickens County, but the Warriors avenged that loss with a come-from-behind win over the Dragons Tuesday afternoon in Cleveland. The Warriors also have wins over

The team is coached by Tim Mayo.

The Warriors take on Lumpkin County in a home game this afternoon at 4:15 p.m.
