PUBLIC NOTICE: Perform Hotel Helen, LLC intends to seek financial assistance from United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Rural Development for the proposed Home2Suites Hotel project located at Land Lot 39, District 3 (South Main Street), Helen, White County, Georgia. The proposed USDA project involves 1.3 acres of grassed land to be developed with a Home2Suites by Hilton Hotel. The hotel will consist of a four-story wood frame building above basement parking with 84 rooms, a large meeting room, and 4th floor restaurant. Activities funded by USDA include the construction of the building and final development of the site. Construction and development will commence upon approval of the project. If implemented, the proposed project will convert an approximately 0.1-acre area of high flood risk inundated by the 1% annual chance flood or base flood. The 0.1-acre area will be impacted solely by impervious cover. In accordance with Executive Order 11988, Floodplain Management and USDA Departmental Regulation 9500-3, Land Use Policy, the purpose of this notice is to inform the public of this proposed conversion or effect and request comments concerning the proposal, alternative sites or actions that would avoid these impacts, and methods that could be used to minimize these impacts.
