A Cleveland man is in the hospital after being hit on Bryant Street by a vehicle late Tuesday evening, July 30.

Kenneth Anderson, 32, was walking on the street, just inside of the outer white line marking, according to Lt. Donna Sims with the Cleveland Police Department. Timothy Ivester, 25, of Cleveland, was driving on the road and reportedly didn’t see Anderson and struck him with his vehicle.

Sims noted that while there is a street light along the roadway, it is not at the location of the accident. She also stated that Anderson was wearing dark clothes without any reflective parts at the time. She also added that Ivester is the person who called 9-1-1.

Anderson was taken to Northeast Georgia Medical Center, and Sims said as of Wednesday morning he has been upgraded to stable condition.

The incident is still under investigation.
