White County's manager is one of three finalists for a position as town manager in Falmouth, Mass. Mike Renshaw, who was hired for his current position May 2022, is pictured with citizens of the coastal New England town in the Falmouth Enterprise newspaper at a meet-and-greet Sunday, March 26.

He joined other candidates Matthew J. Wojcik, a town administrator at a nearby Mass. town and Peter Johnson-Staub, currently serving as interim town manager in Falmouth at the meeting, at which citizens could meet and question the candidates.

Falmouth's select board is expected to vote their approval for the final candidate Monday, April 3 at 8 p.m. The town, with a population of just a few hundred more people than Cleveland, has been searching for its town manager about 10 months, after removing the last one from office in May 2022.

That was about the time that Renshaw was being approved for his position in White County. White County's commissioners had, much to their regret, become used to job search methods by then as Renshaw was their third hire for the position in 23 months.

He replaced Joey Cason, who was hired September 2022 and left March 2023. Cason followed Jason Cobb, who was hired April 2021, to replace retiring county manager Mike Melton. Cobb left in 14 months.

Renshaw was unavailable for comment Friday afternoon. White County's Board of Commissioners have a called meeting Tuesday, April 11, for the purpose of going into executive session to discuss personnel.
