UPDATE: The boil water notice was lifted Saturday afternoon, Dec. 4.

The city of Cleveland issued a boil water notice Thursday evening (Dec. 2) due to a 6-inch water main break at U.S. 129 South from Daybreak Road to Totherow Road.

This area includes Roller Rink Road, Tommy Cowart Road, Payne Drive, Totherow Road, Pleasant Drive, Performance Road, Alexander Funeral Home Drive, Candlewick Road, Becky Drive, Memory Drive and the intersection of Truelove Road. This notice will affect city of Cleveland water customers at locations along these roads.

Residents and businesses in this area will see a loss of water or water pressure while the line is being repaired according to the notice, which is required by the Georgia Environment Protection Division (EPD) when water pressure drops below 20 PSI (pounds per square inch).

The boiled water is for drinking purposes or residents can use bottled water until bacteriological samples can be collected and tested. The city advises that water needs to be boiled until the notice is lifted. The city will notify the media as soon as test results are received.
