White County continues to see new confirmed cases of COVID-19, with the county reaching 190 cases in a preliminary report by the Georgia Department of Public Health on Wednesday, July 15.
Chattahoochee Strasse in Helen has been closed today, Thursday, July 16, due to a major waterline break.
An 11-month joint investigation by local, state and federal authorities has led to charges against 50 people and seizure of drugs valued at more than $700,000.
The White County School System will resume classes a week later than originally planned, with precautions in place related to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Despite facing cuts in state funding, a proposed budget for the White County School System does not include a tax increase or employee furlough days.
