White County High School’s Ollie Weiland captured a state championship Saturday afternoon, winning the 105-pound division at the Georgia High School Association All-Classification Girls state tournament in Macon.
Weiland posted a 5-2 decision over Chestatee’s Courtney Hawkins to win the state title.
Weiland joined a very exclusive club with the state title win, joining Sidney Sullens as the only female wrestlers to win a state championship in the history of the wrestling program. Sullens won the 142-pound title in 2021.
