A contested race for the White County Board of Commissioners has come about during candidate qualifying.

County Commission District 2 incumbent Lyn Holcomb filed to seek re-election and will face a challenge in May’s Republican primary from Debora Palmer. Mike DeVincentis qualified for the seat as a Democrat on Wednesday, March 9. County Commission District 3 incumbent Edwin Nix has also qualified.
The White County Board of Education's two incumbents have also qualified: District 4's Linda Erbele and District 2's John Solmon. Both are running as Republicans. District 4 has two republican challengers Laurin Terry and James King.
Local qualifying will continue until noon on Friday, March 11, at the White County Elections Office at 1241 Helen Highway, Suite 210-A, in Cleveland. For more information, call 706-865-7812. Election Day for primaries are set for May 24.

- State Senate District 51: Steve Gooch – Republican, incumbent
- State House District 8: Stan Gunter – Republican, incumbent; June Krise – Democrat
- State House District 9: Will Wade – Republican, incumbent; Tyler Tolin – Republican
