Cam Greene is the latest candidate to announce plans to run for White County probate judge.

Greene, 35, is a White County native and life-long resident. He has been employed with Barrett Funeral Home since 2010, while also managing his landscaping business, Greene Grass, since 2012.

Greene says he has communicated with and helped many people in his own community over the years and would continue those efforts by serving residents as probate judge.

“I feel innately passionate about serving the fellow citizens of this community and believe my education and experience will give me the knowledge and sound judgment to be ready to not only make the important daily decisions that come along with being probate judge, but to also listen, respect and connect with all individuals on a personal level to make for an easier process for all involved,” he says.

Greene says he possesses five qualities he believes are essential for the position – honesty, compassion, integrity, fairness and sound judgment. A White County High School graduate, Greene earned a bachelor’s degree in history from Truett McConnell University. He is a member of First Baptist Church of Cleveland and is involved with the Kiwanis Club.

The candidate points to his education and his experiences in owning a business and his work in the funeral service as additional qualifications for office. Greene says he has been able to connect with people of all ages and backgrounds during a difficult and emotional time of their lives through funeral service work.

“As probate judge, I will have the foundation necessary to respect and connect with individuals on a personal level while helping them understand the probate process, which will make it easier for all involved,” he says.

Greene also notes that his family has a history of service and leadership beginning with his grandfather, Tom Hood, a former state representative and state senator. His father, Bradley Greene, has been a Cleveland City Council member for 15 years.

Greene says he feels led to continue the legacy of service to White County citizens.

“It would be an honor for me, a native son of White County, to serve the people and community that I care so deeply about, and I humbly ask for their vote.”
