BLITZ, a local sports media company, recently announced it's annual Hall of Fame Class for 2025 and four former White County High School athletes made the list.
Maddie Futch, Katelyn Boman, Kylie Watkins and Ollie Weiland made the list of 32 athletes in 14 sports to be honored this year.
Futch, a 2021 WCHS graduate, had a stellar career for the Lady Warriors' basketball program. She scored 954 points and had more than 600 rebounds, and averaged 14 points per game and eight rebounds. She was the Region Player of the Year in 2020-21, and was an All-State selection. Futch went on to play at Emmanuel College for the past four years.
Katelyn Boman, a 2023 WCHS graduate, was a mainstay for the White County softball team.
As a utility player who could play all over the diamond, Boman batted .409 as a senior, blasting three home runs and finished with 25 RBI, 31 runs, four doubles, and four triples. She hit .397 as a junior with 12 RBI and 16 runs, and closed with a stellar line of .375-5-50 overall with more than 80 runs in her career.
Kylie Watkins, a 2025 graduate, was dominant during her prep career. The Piedmont signee scored 1,399 points while ripping down 756 boards and notching 226 assists. She added 225 steals and 181 blocks while shooting 50 percent from the floor. Last winter during her senior season,
Watkins averaged 17 points and eight rebounds and was the Region 6-AAA Defensive Player of the Year and the BLITZ Player of the Year.
Watkins also was selected to the Class AAA All-State second team.
Ollie Weiland, a 2025 graduate, is one of the top female wrestlers to compete for the White County program, following in the path of Sidney Sullens.
Weiland wrestled at the lightweight division, and went 113-33 overall, winning state titles in 2023 and 2024. She placed in the Top 5 of the Girl's All-Classification state meet all four years.
