The White County Warriors ran into one of top teams in the state last week in a Region 6-AAA matchup in Gainesville.
The Trojans scored four times in the first half to open up a 28-0 lead and then finished things off with four more touchdowns in the second half on the way to a 56-14 win. The Trojans, the No. 6 team in the latest Class AAA state poll, moved to 5-0 win the win and will take on Pickens (5-0) this weekend in a battle between two of the favorites for the Region 6-AAA title. The Warriors will head to Dahlonega for the annual battle with the Lumpkin County Indians, who are 3-2 overall and 1-1 region play after a 47-9 win over Chestatee last week.
North Hall started the game against White County with three drives that produced running touchdowns as Parker Carlton, Jacob Adams and Justin Allen all found the end zone on the ground for a 21-0 lead.
North Hall quarterback Alex Schlieman had a six-yard passing touchdown to close out the half to give the Trojans a 28-0 lead.
After another rushing touchdown pushed the lead to 35-0, Schlieman tossed another scoring pass for a 42-0 lead.
The Warriors got on the board late in the third quarter on a pass play from Alex Freeman to Zach Godfrey, who turned a short pass into a big play, breaking three or four tackles before getting free down the North Hall sideline on an 80-yard scoring play.
North Hall finished off the third quarter with a rushing touchdown, and the the Warriors' passing attack struck again as Freeman found Gaines Clark open behind the Trojans' secondary for a 43-yard touchdown strike. North Hall finished off the scoring later in the quarter with a touchdown.
Freeman had his best night of the season through the air, compeleting 13-of-22 passes for 223 yards and two scores. Clark, who was playing in his second game of the season after he was sidelined with an injury, had a seven catches for 99 yards, while Godfey had three catches for 107 yards. Noel Lammers had two receptions and John Jarrard added a catch.
The Warriors had a rough night running the football as Noel Lammers led the ground game with 29 yards on eight carries.
Schlieman was 20-of-25 passing for 385 yards and three touchdown. Cole Cable had eight receptions for a school-record 214 yards for the Trojams, while Ty Kemp had seven receptions for 139 yards and two touchdowns.
North Hall finished with 512 yards and has surpassed 500 total yards in all five games this season and now Class AAA in points per game at 48.4
Savion Anderson and Reid Penrose both had seven tackles of the Warriors, while Jack Johnson had five total tackles. Carrson Ward had four tackles, with Kody Tuhey, James Hart, Easton Drew, Josiah Williams, Branson Smith and Matt Turner each recording three tackles. Clark, Lammers and Zay Cheek each had two tackles and Davey Waller, Jaxin Hoosline and Ben Colon each had one tackle.
