With candidate qualifying next week for city elections later this year, one race appears to already be forming for Cleveland, and a Helen incumbent does not plan to seek another term.
The cities of Cleveland and Helen are set to hold elections later this year.
Qualifying for those elections is scheduled for Aug. 16-20. Election Day will be Tuesday, Nov. 2.
Cleveland elections will return in 2021, with a pair of city council seats up for reelection.
Just over 63% of White County’s active voters turned out for the Jan. 5 runoff election, with ballots heavily favoring Republicans.
