Agrifest Country Market returns this Saturday, celebrating White County’s agricultural heritage.
The White County Chamber of Commerce will host the 15th Agrifest Country Market from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sept. 25 in downtown Cleveland. The harvest festival is held in conjunction with the last White County Farmer’s Market of the season. The Agrifest Country Market will feature a variety of vendors, including those with locally grown produce and flowers, as well as handcrafted items, home décor, wearables, T-shirts, scarves, hats, in which everything is locally made and locally sourced, said Chamber President Beth Truelove. Among the children’s activities will be a petting zoo hosted by the North Georgia Zoo, along with the opportunity to see farm animals.
‘History Day’ in White County to be observed with open house at Historic Courthouse
The White County Board of Commissioners has proclaimed Saturday, Sept. 25, as “Georgia History Day in White County.”
“This is to coincide with our open house and history day celebration at the Historic Courthouse in Cleveland,” says Janet Cox, White County Historical Society president.
Cox says the Historical Society will have all kinds of exciting things going on that day to celebrate the community’s past.
“This open house is to show off our historic courthouse with its new wooden window blinds, doors, and fresh paint throughout. The event will include live music, historical displays, butter churning, and book signings,” says Cox. “There’s no admission charge, so we hope everyone will drop by for the fun. We especially want to welcome the younger people who have so much to learn about our county’s amazing history.”
History Day will be from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. Cox says the hot-off-the-press 2022 Historical Society calendars will also be for sale at the celebration.
