A 2-year-old girl died in a tragic incident in Sautee Nacoochee on Monday, Aug. 30, after being struck by a vehicle in a driveway.

According to a Georgia State Patrol report, a 2014 Honda CR-V was turning into a private driveway on Woodland Drive just before 6 p.m. when the left front of the vehicle struck the child, Isabella Rider of Gainesville, as she was running in the driveway toward the vehicle. The report stated that the driver, Larry Flowers, 73, of Sautee Nacoochee, was unable to see Rider over his hood or down the driveway due to the incline.

Rider was the granddaughter of Flowers, according to White County Sheriff Rick Kelley.

No charges have been filed in the incident.
