Helen to conduct smoke test

The City of Helen will be conducting a smoke test on the sewer system in the Innsbruck Community for the next few weeks.

"If the piping in your home is properly vented, you should not have any smoke penetrate the inside," the city said in a notice on Monday, May 18. "If your pipes are incorrectly vented and smoke does get into your house, please realize the smoke is NOT toxic. Open your windows until the smoke dissipates. If you have any questions, please call Helen City Hall at 706-878-2733."

The city talked about the need for the smoke test back in January.
