Election Day is on the horizon for Georgia’s two U.S. Senate and state Public Service Commission runoffs.

The advance in-person voting period was set to wrap up at 5 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 31.

White County Chief Voter Registrar Lisa Manning said early voting has gone well. She added that 5,124 voters had cast in-person ballots as of 5 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 29, and 2,238 absentee ballots had been returned out of 3,032 issued. There are roughly 21,000 registered voters in White County.

Absentee ballots need to be turned into the voter registration office by 7 p.m. on Election Day, Manning said. Completed absentee ballots should not be turned in at the polls on Election Day. There is a ballot dropbox at the voter registrar office at 1241 Helen Highway, Suite 210-A, in Cleveland.

Election Day voting will be held at normal polling locations from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. To find your polling location, and other information, visit mvp.sos.ga.gov.
