by Samantha Sinclair White County News   Seventy-nine years ago this month, Andy Negra landed on Utah Beach in Normandy, France. On June 4, he stood on Omaha Beach, just beside where he landed, for the first time since July 18, 1944. “It struck me real quick,” Negra said.

Fireworks displays set for Fourth

Staff Report   Helen’s annual fireworks may be the main event on Independence Day, but there are plenty of other celebrations for families to enjoy this weekend and on the holiday. On Saturday, July 1, there will be two local celebrations.

Storm ravages county Sunday afternoon

by Noah Johnson and Linda Erbele White County News   White County was hit with a storm on Sunday afternoon that left numerous residents without power. Fallen trees took down power lines, blocking roads and causing damage.
