Christina Ernst, founder of VIP Alpine Tours, is in the business of guiding dreams for clients near and far. What began as a local travel business has grown into a full-service operation, crafting journeys to destinations across the globe, from classic European tours to unique adventures in Africa and the Arctic.
“My clients come to me because they want more than just a vacation — they want a carefully curated journey that reflects their interests, style, and budget,” says Ernst, whose company, based in Sautee Nacoochee, is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year.
At the heart of VIP Alpine Tours, Ernst says, is a team that handles every detail, whether it’s arranging a family getaway, a wellness retreat, or a custom itinerary through the Alps. Ernst herself leads groups of travelers to destinations like Germany, Austria, and beyond.
While Ernst has traveled to more than 90 countries and leads international trips every two months or so, she focused her entrepreneurial eye on the local scene in 2013, launching VIP Southern Tours, which offers guided wine tasting experiences in North Georgia’s booming wine country. That earned her one of the most meaningful honors of her business journey, recognition as White County Entrepreneur of the Year.
Through it all, whether she’s personally guiding people across the planet, or facilitating local tours of the North Georgia countryside, Ernst has learned what travelers want today: peace of mind.
“One trend I’ve noticed is travelers booking in extremes — either very last-minute or years ahead — but both want someone they can trust,” she said.
From VIP amenities and insider perks to stress-free planning, her approach aims to save time for clients, creating experiences they won’t forget.
“It’s not just about booking — it’s about having someone who knows the industry and genuinely cares about your experience,” she said.
Ernst shows no signs of slowing down as she plans new adventures for this year and beyond. For her, the journey, and her approach to business, has always been personal. That’s what keeps clients coming back for one more unforgettable trip.
