ALDI eyes Cleveland for new store location

Plans are in place for an ALDI grocery store in Cleveland. The city has approved permits for the proposed building, said City Administrator Tom O’Bryant in response to a White County News inquiry.

Starting Thursday, Sept. 9, there will be a traffic shift on Hulsey Road due to construction for phase 3 of the bypass. According to the Georgia Department of Transportation, the traffic shift will take place on Hulsey Road from Helen Highway to U.S. 129.

Traffic flow to shift for bypass work

The traffic flow on Hulsey Road in Cleveland is expected to shift next week to newly constructed lanes as work continues on Phase 3 of the Appalachian Parkway.

Next step for bypass

A road widening project for the Cleveland Bypass (Appalachian Parkway) has a contractor, and it could soon have a start date for construction. The Georgia Department of Transportation announced earlier this week that the project bid had been awarded to CMES Inc. of Norcross.
