TMU plans for fall sports

Last week, Truett McConnell University and the rest of the Appalachian Athletic Conference announced that the member schools will be playing a reduced sports schedule during the fall semesters due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Truett McConnell, AAC to play limited fall schedule

The fall sports schedule will look a little different for Truett McConnell University and the rest of thet Appalachian Athletic Conference schools due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

TMU adds lights to outdoor facilities

When the upcoming sports season kicks off later this year for the Truett McConnell soccer, softball, baseball teams, they will be able to play night games for the first time in school history.

TMU's Day earns NAIA All-America golf honors

Truett McConnell's Dawson Day has been named to the 2020 NAIA PING All-America third team and the 2020 NAIA PING South All-Region team. "Dawson has had a tremendous career at TMU," Head Coach Steve Patton said.

TMU Bears honored

Staff report The Appalachian Athletic Conference recently announced the postseason awards for all of the spring sports. The spring season was cut short due to COVID-19, and AAC officials decided to honor the spring athletes with the Champions of Character team and All-Academic squad.

TMU in Top 10

The Truett McConnell softball  team jumped into the NAIA Top 10 last week, and they celebrated by winning four consecutive games in the past nine days. The Lady Bears (13-2) moved up five spots in the national poll after opening the year at No. 14 in the preseason poll.

TMU players earn AAC basketball honors

Four student-athletes from Truett McConnell University earned Appalachian Athletic Conference honors during the 2019-20 basketball season. Sierra Kendall and Re'Tavia Floyd were named to the AAC All-Conference women's squad, while Enocka Franky and Marlon Allen were named the the men's team.

Truett McConnell wins NFCA Leadoff Classic

The Truett McConnell softball team had a stellar performance weekend at the National Fastpitch Coaches Association Leadoff Classic. The Lady Bears, ranked No. 14 in the latest NAIA national poll posted a 4-1 record to earn the tournament title, which featured three other teams ranked in the Top 20.
