The Cleveland Police Department has scheduled a series of child safety seat check events for June and July. The public is invited to visit the CPD to have personnel inspect and advise about correct safety seat sizes for children and ensure that units are properly secured.

Friday's WCHS graduation delayed an hour due to weather

The start of White County High School's graduation May 28 has been delayed an hour due to impending inclement weather, according to a Friday afternoon announcement. The event will now begin at 9 p.m. instead of the originally scheduled 8 p.m. Stadium gates will open at 7 p.m.

Truett track athletes earn spots in NAIA national meet

The NAIA Men's Outdoor Track & Field National Championships kicked off Wednesday in Gulf Shores, Ala., and five Truett McConnell student-athletes were part of the field.

Craig honored for community work

White County High School graduate Caroline Craig has been named to the SEC Community Service team for women's golf. Craig is active with community service projects both in Athens and in White County.

Bears finish season at NAIA golf tournament

The Truett McConnell men's golf team wrapped up the 2021 season with a trip to the NAIA National Championships last week in Silvis, Illinois. The Bears finished 22nd after two rounds of play, and missed making the cut for the final two rounds of the tournament by seven strokes.

WCHS finishes 12th in GADA Cup

The White County High School athletic program just wrapped up one of the best years in school history, finishing 12th in the Class AAA Director's Cup competition.
