Oktoberfest season has arrived in Helen, bringing crowds to enjoy German food, music and fun. The festivities throughout the city began Thursday, Sept. 9, and will continue through Sunday, Nov. 7. At the Helen Festhalle (1074 Edelweiss Strasse), Oktoberfest celebrations will run from Sept.

It’s almost time for Oktoberfest season in Helen. The festivities throughout the city begin Thursday, Sept. 9, and continue through Sunday, Nov. 7. At the Helen Festhalle (1074 Edelweiss Strasse), Oktoberfest celebrations will run from Sept. 9-12, Sept. 16-19, Sept. 23-26, then daily from Sept.
Helen businesses will be able to apply to have outdoor café areas on their private property where they can serve alcoholic beverages during Oktoberfest.

The music, dancing and mingling of Oktoberfest will be missing from the Helen Festhalle this year, though the city still expects to welcome visitors for the seasonal celebration.
