by Eric Tiongson White County News   On Tuesday, March 12, six people were arrested during a drug bust at 979 Hulsey Road in Cleveland, according to the White County Sheriff’s Office. About 25 grams of meth were confiscated during the arrests, according to reports.

Literacy leader to head local elementary curriculum

by Samantha Sinclair White County News   An assistant principal is moving to the district office next school year. Danette Hasek, assistant principal at Mossy Creek Elementary School, was selected to be the district’s new director of elementary curriculum, effective July 1.

Ricky Bobby’s Wonder Bread-sponsored attire was a popular sight Friday night at the Talladega Nights themed Taste of the Town. The White County Chamber of Commerce event, held at Yonah Mountain Vineyard this year, highlights member restaurants, letting guests try tastes from each one.

Years ago, the Bean Creek community had its own baseball team. Because it was made up of military veterans, it was called the Valley Vets. According to A Pictorial History of White County, Georgia, the Nicely brothers revitalized the team after World War II.
