White County Board of Commissioners announced earlier this week that County Manager Jason Cobb will be leaving by the end of June. Commissioners voted to accept Cobb’s resignation notice following a closed session meeting to discuss personnel on Monday evening, May 3.

White County sweeps 7-AAA track team titles

It appears the White County track teams made history last week by capturing both Region 7-AAA track titles. According to WCHS head coach Jake Cantrell, winning both the boys and girls' titles in the same year is rare, and may not have ever been done in the program's history.

The cause of a residential fire on Tray Mountain on Friday, April 30 has not been determined. According to White County Public Safety Director David Murphy, White County Fire Services, the Helen Fire Department and Lee Arrendale Fire Brigade responded to the call at 2:45 p.m.

WC girls lose battle to No. 2 Oconee

White County and Oconee County put on a soccer clinic Monday night during the second round of Class AAA girl's soccer tournament, but unfortunately, the wrong set of Lady Warriors walked off the field with the win. Oconee County, the No.
