Beach ends state Run: Bulldogs' defense keys late rally; Warriors fall short of first Elite 8 berth

A historic season came to an end last weekend for the White County Warriors' basketball team. The Warriors (18-12) suffered a heartbreaking 57-52 loss last Saturday to Beach in the second round of the Class AAA state tournament.

Lady Warriors' season ends

When you are playing on the road in the first round of the state tournament against a Top 10 opponent, the last thing you want to do is get off to a slow start. That's what happened to the White County Lady Warriors Tuesday night in Norcross in the opening round of the Class AAA playoffs.

In the middle of the third quarter of the 7-AAA championship game Tuesday night at Cherokee Bluff, it looked like the White County Warriors might be on their way to the program's first-ever region championship.

Warriors complete area sweep, win 7-AAA traditional championship

The White County Warrior wrestling team completed a historic sweep last Saturday in Dahlonega, winning the program's first-ever area traditional tournament title. The Warriors posted 219 points to hold off Lumpkin County, which finished with 205 points, for the 7-AAA championship.

WCMS squad caps off unbeaten season

For the third year in a row, White County Middle School has produced an undefeated girl's basketball team. On Monday, the school's seventh grade team captured the North Georgia Mountain League championship in Ellijay.

Chad Bennett named Warriors head football coach

A familiar face is taking the reins of the White County High School football program. Chad Bennett, who spent four years as the Warriors' offensive coordinator, was approved by the Board of Education Friday morning to be the team's next head coach.

Autry wins Hook'Em title

The White County Warriors capped off the holiday break last week by wrestling in the Hook'Em Holiday Clash in Suwanee. The Warriors finished ninth among 25 teams in the event. North Forsyth wont the team title with 214 points, with West Forsyth second at 192, and Lambert was third at 168.5.
