A contested race for the White County Board of Commissioners has come about during candidate qualifying.

The candidate qualifying period is next week for anyone wanting to run for the White County Board of Commissioners and White County Board of Education.
Candidate qualifying for Cleveland and Helen will continue through Friday, but eight people had officially launched their bids for city office as of Wednesday morning.
Qualifying is this week for both the cities of Cleveland and Helen.

Qualifying begins today for the Nov. 2 elections in the cities of Cleveland and Helen. Qualifying will take place all week through Friday, Aug. 20.
With candidate qualifying next week for city elections later this year, one race appears to already be forming for Cleveland, and a Helen incumbent does not plan to seek another term.
CJ McDonald says he plans to qualify for the Ward 4 seat on the Cleveland City Council, currently held by Bradley Greene.
The cities of Cleveland and Helen are set to hold elections later this year.
Qualifying for those elections is scheduled for Aug. 16-20. Election Day will be Tuesday, Nov. 2.
