Board of Commissioners hires interim county manager

The White County Commission unanimously approved the hiring of an interim county manager at a called meeting May 8.

Billy Pittard, who was recently interim county manager in Barrow County will step into the position vacated by Mike Renshaw who was fired April 11 after he had accepted a similar position in Falmouth, Mass.

Prior to his interim position in Barrow, Pittard has served as operations manager, reporting to the county manager. He is a former chair of the Oglethorpe County Commission, and former president of the Association of County Commissions of Georgia.
