Annual veterans appreciation lunch set for Oct. 29

All White County and surrounding counties' veterans and active military, as well as their immediate adult family members or close personal friends, are invited to attend the 15th Annual Veterans' Luncheon to be held in their honor on Tuesday, Oct. 29, at Mt. Yonah Baptist Church (882 Asbestos Road in Cleveland).

Registration will begin at 10:30 a.m. in the church fellowship hall, with the program starting at 11 a.m. in the church sanctuary.

Featured speaker will be John Guandolo, a Marine infantry platoon commander in combat Operations Desert Shield/Storm. He was later assigned to the Counter-terrorism Division of the FBI's Washington Field Office and currently advises governments – American and others – on matters related to national security. His presentation will address the Muslim Brotherhood and it's jihadi support network inside the United States, as well Shariah law.

Timothy Miller of the Atlanta Opera and Atlanta Braves' fame will be the featured soloist. The White County High School JROTC also will be participating.

Following the program, The Yonah Coffee and Cafe will be serving a full, catered meal for the honored Veterans. Each veteran will receive a special gift after the luncheon.

While there is no charge, an RSVP is required to secure a meal. Former attendees have been issued an invitation. Veterans who are new to the event may pre-register by calling the following number dedicated exclusively for the luncheon – 706-865-3092.
