A man was recaptured after escaping law enforcement custody earlier Saturday morning.

Brandon Lee Webster, 25, of Dawsonville, is charged with aggravated assault, false imprisonment, sexual battery, escape, interference with government property, and possession of methamphetamine, according to a press release from Capt. Rick Kelley with the White County Sheriff’s Office.

Rick Kelley said at approximately 2 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 7, deputies were following up on an assault report that occurred earlier in the evening at a residence on Luther Palmer Road. Webster was arrested at the scene and placed in the backseat of a patrol car.

“While Webster was in the backseat of the patrol unit, he was able to roll the rear window down and escape from deputies thru the open window,” Kelley said. He added that the window lock was not engaged.

Deputies, along with the Alto K9 unit and the Georgia State Patrol aviation unit, conducted an extensive search, Kelley said. Webster was caught at approximately 10 a.m. Saturday and taken into custody. After being taken into custody, Webster was taken to the hospital for "seizure like symptoms," Kelley stated. He was evaluated for a few hours at the hospital, then released.

Kelley said that the case is ongoing and additional charges are possible.
