The State Fire Marshall's Office is investigating a Saturday, June 19 fire that occurred at a cabin on Little Bear Court.

According to White County Public Safety Director David Murphy, White County Fire Station 6 was called to the area to investigate smoke, and when they arrived, they discovered a rental cabin on Little Bear Court that was fully involved. The Cleveland Fire Department, along with White County Fire Stations 2 and 4, assisted in the call.

"The cabin was a total loss, displacing a family of 10 from Florida," Murphy said. "No injuries were reported. The American Red Cross was called to assist the family."

There were eight firefighters who spend around five hours at the scene, where they were controlling the fire from spreading and shuttling water to the scene, Murphy said.
