Suspect identified, charged in Solid Rock Baptist Church fire

A suspect has been identified and charged in connection to the fire at Solid Rock Baptist Church on Christmas Day.

According to Captain Clay Hammond with the White County Sheriff's Office, Clint Benjamin Vance, 33, of Kennesaw, was identified as the suspect involved in the fire after the Georgia State Fire Marshal's Office received a tip about the incident. Vance has been charged with arson and vandalism to a place of worship. He was already in custody in Cherokee County, Georgia on unrelated charges.

Hammond stated that the incident is still under investigation by the WCSO and the Georgia State Fire Marshal's Office, and additional charges could be filed.
