Two people have been arrested following an armed robbery at a gas station in Cleveland on Saturday, May 23.

According to Lt. Donna Sims with the Cleveland Police Department, at approximately 6:18 p.m., a male suspect, later identified as Giovanni E Annucci- Romero, 22, of New Jersey, entered the Chevron convenience store on East Kyle Street in Cleveland with two firearms and demanded money. The clerk handed over the items, and Annucci-Romero left the scene in a small white car. The vehicle was being driven by a female driver with dark hair, later identified as Terrisa Thammavongra, 22, of Alto.

When officers responded, they were able to get a description of the vehicle and provided a lookout to surrounding counties, according to Sims. A Habersham County Deputy later saw a vehicle matching the description of the one wanted in connection to the armed robbery, and conducted a traffic stop. The suspects were detained for the Cleveland Police Department and eventually arrested for armed robbery.

There were no injuries during the incident or arrest, Sims said. The two guns and stolen money were recovered.
