Thanks to a $5,000 emergency grant from the North Georgia Community Foundation, White County Caring & Sharing plans to accept additional applications for April assistance with rent, utilities and other critical basic needs in these unprecedented times.

Interviews are to take place by phone on Wednesday, April 15, and must be scheduled in advance. Those seeking assistance may schedule a phone interview by calling 706-865-2933 on Thursday, April 9; Monday, April 13; or Tuesday, April 14, between 9:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.

From originally budgeted funds, White County Caring & Sharing already has assisted 17 local families this month with essential needs.

Applicants with proof of at least three months of White County residency and original bills and/or landlord letters may qualify for assistance once per six-month period, with a lifetime limit of three assists per household.
