The White County Board of Elections and Registration will consider voting on a proposed consolidation of the Helen and Robertstown voting precincts for county elections at its March 7 meeting. Elections board members hosted their second public hearing on the issue Feb.

The City of Helen wants the county offices to manage city elections.

The Helen City Commission plans to contract with the White County election office to conduct its municipal elections. White County Elections Supervisor Akyn Bailey quoted a price of $5,717.35 to run Helen’s city elections.

The White County Board of Elections and Registration received its first round of feedback this week on a proposed consolidation of the Helen and Robertstown voting precincts. Only two people commented during the Jan. 24 public hearing.
