District 2 Public Health will be hosting a drive-thru flu clinic on Tuesday, Oct. 12, at Cleveland Worship Center from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.  Individuals who would like to receive their flu shot at the drive-thru must be 18 and older, must remain in their vehicles, and are asked to wear a mask.

A rabid fox in the Arthur Seabolt Road area is the second confirmed rabies case in White County for 2021. According to Sean Sullivan, White County Environmental Health Manager, on Thursday, Sept. 30, homeowners heard a commotion outside on their porch at approximately 10:30 p.m.

The community is remembering a creative and talented White County writer. Mildred Greear passed away Sept. 25, a few weeks shy of her 101st birthday, according to her daughter, Teressa Holtzclaw. Greear was born in Mississippi, where she grew up.
