TMU offers summer sports camps

After Covid shut down summer youth spots camps last year, the Truett McConnell sports camps will be back up and running beginning in June. Softball The TMU Softball Prospect Camp will be held Friday, June 4, at the softball complex.

Truett track athletes earn spots in NAIA national meet

The NAIA Men's Outdoor Track & Field National Championships kicked off Wednesday in Gulf Shores, Ala., and five Truett McConnell student-athletes were part of the field.

Craig honored for community work

White County High School graduate Caroline Craig has been named to the SEC Community Service team for women's golf. Craig is active with community service projects both in Athens and in White County.

Lady Bears in Top 20 after first round of NAIA golf tournament

The Truett McConnell women's golf team is wrapping up the 2021 season in Oklahoma City this week, competing in the NAIA National Championships for the first time in program history.

Bears finish season at NAIA golf tournament

The Truett McConnell men's golf team wrapped up the 2021 season with a trip to the NAIA National Championships last week in Silvis, Illinois. The Bears finished 22nd after two rounds of play, and missed making the cut for the final two rounds of the tournament by seven strokes.

WCHS finishes 12th in GADA Cup

The White County High School athletic program just wrapped up one of the best years in school history, finishing 12th in the Class AAA Director's Cup competition.

Warriors hold spring practice, look to reload

When spring football practice began last week at White County High School, things looked a little different. For the first time since Tim Cokely took over the program, he walked out on the practice field without the Class of 2021 players.

Lady Bears fall in NAIA national softball tourney

After opening the NAIA national softball tournament with a win, the Truett McConnell Lady Bears saw their season come to and end Tuesday with a pair of losses. The Lady Bears, the No. 3 seed in the Hattiesburg Regional, opened the tournament Monday with a 4-3 win over No. 2 seed Central Baptist.

Adams ties for sixth at boy's state golf tournament

After the White County boy's golf team narrowly missed earning a spot in the Class AAA state tournament in April, senior Jacob Adams wanted to make sure he represented his teammates in the right way in the biggest tournament of the year.

Cannon wins Class AAA discus crown

White County High School made some noise last week at the Class AAA state track meet in Albany. The Lady Warriors, behind a state championship performance from Dasha Cannon, captured fifth place in the girl's team standings, while the Warriors finished 14th in the boy's competition.
