School open houses set for July, August

    It's nearly time to welcome students back to White County's public schools.

    The following open houses have been scheduled:

    • White County Middle School will hold a sixth grade camp from 9 a.m.-11 a.m. on Thursday, July 30. Drop-off is at 8:30 a.m. WCMS is located at 283 Old Blairsville Road, Cleveland.
    • White County High School will hold an open house for 10th through 12th graders from 3:30-5  p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 4, and for ninth graders from 5:30-7 p.m on Aug. 4. A ninth grade parent meeting will be held at 5:30 p.m. in the main gym. WCHS is located at 2600 Hwy 129 North, Cleveland,
    • All elementary schools will hold open houses from 4-6 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 5, for children in first through fifth grades. (Pre-K and Kindergarten students will be scheduled by appointment. Teachers will call to schedule appointments starting on Aug. 3.)

    Elementary schools include:

    • Jack P. Nix, 342 West Kytle Street, Cleveland
    • Tesnatee Gap Elementary, 2696 Tesnatee Gap Valley Road, Cleveland
    • Mossy Creek Elementary, 128 Horace Fitzpatrick Drive, Cleveland
    • Mt. Yonah Elementary, 1161 Duncan Bridge Road, Sautee
    • White County Middle School will hold an open house for sixth through eighth grades from 5-7 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 5. WCMS is located at 283 Old Blairsville Road, Cleveland.
