Water testing confirms safe conditions in Helen

The Chattahoochee Riverkeeper has published the results from this week's EPA-approved testing of a water sample gathered at Riverside Park confirming the Alpine Helen-White County section of the Chattahoochee is currently clean and safe for recreational use.

“The Northeast Georgia area of the Chattahoochee River has been tested and found to be safe with no E.coli present,” said Helen City Manager Darrell Westmoreland. “However, E.coli was found south of Lake Lanier in the Atlanta area. The City of Helen welcomes all visitors to come and enjoy our beautiful town.”

Visitors are encouraged to stay informed through trusted local sources and check the Chattahoochee Riverkeeper Swim Guide for the latest water quality updates.
