Akyn Bailey will be White County’s next election supervisor.
She was set to begin her new role Thursday, Oct. 14, according to an announcement from County Manager Joey Cason.
Bailey had been the lead consultant and technology manager for the Hall County elections office, where she had worked since 2018. She also spent four years prior to that at the Jackson County elections office.
White County officials said Bailey is “extremely proficient with the technology, equipment and procedures required for the elections process.” She is working toward completion of a bachelor’s degree in political science at the University of North Georgia, as well as obtaining paralegal certification.
White County began the search for a new elections supervisor following the Aug. 25 dismissal of Lisa Manning.
The elections supervisor is tasked with administering and overseeing elections for the county, including directing election and voter registration staff, while working with the county Board of Elections and Registration. The position reports directly to the county manager.
