Helen’s Day in the Park for veterans set for Wednesday, Sept. 18

The City of Helen will host its annual Day in the Park for military veterans and their families on Wednesday, Sept. 18.

City Manager Jerry Elkins, Mayor Cinnamon Spurlock, city council members and city employees are proud to honor all military veterans and their families with a complimentary lunch of grilled hot dogs, hamburgers and all the fixings. Desserts will be provided by members of Helen Arts & Heritage Center. 

This event, given in appreciation of the service and sacrifices rendered, will begin at 11 a.m. at Helen’s Riverside Park Pavilion, located on Edelweiss Strasse along the river.

All military veterans and their families are invited and asked to contact Helen Arts & Heritage by calling 706-878-3933 with the number in your party that will be attending so that adequate meal preparations might be made.
